Revival Page *** Under Construction ***Why a page devoted to revival? I have for a very long time been very interested Revival and Revivals. I will publish my thoughts and experiences related to revival and provide as many revival links as I can. I find revival stories touch my heart and encourage me to press in a seek the Lord. When I read some of the stories from past revivals, my heart burns with in me to experience revival. I laugh and cry overwhelmed with joy when I read how the Lord broke in upon His people. I hope this page will stir your heart to pursue revival in your life. Revival is one of those things in life that we hunger for but really don't know how to get there. Often when we look at ourselves and compare our ordinary lives with the larger than life images we see from past revivals we may believe revival is only for the select few. But the fact is we need a daily does of revival to honestly live the life that Jesus offers us. I have listed several revivals from the past and plan to add information about each in the coming days/months... 1830 - Charles Finney - Salvations, In Filling with Holy Spirit, Baptism by Fire. 1860's - One of the great revivals of the past that I have read about is the South African Revival of 1860. Many have heard of Andrew Murray and his teachings on prayer but few realize he did not believe revival had started in his church. God as he often does poured out His Spirit in a powerful way in a simple prayer meeting. He used an unsuspecting simple young girl from the wrong side of the tracks as the catalyst for the outpouring. Read the information on this revival on the link below. Andrew Murray - 1860 South African Revival... ...Click here 1880 - Maria Woodworth-Etter - Sings and Wonders, In Filling with Holy Spirit, continued until 1920's. 1901 - Topeka Kansas Charles Parham - In Filling with Holy Spirit (evidence of speaking in tongues). He later moved to Houston and allowed William Seymor the leader of the Azusa Street revival to attend his classes.
